The existence of "reasons" doesn't assuage my suspicions. I'm not accusing them of anything, I just have suspicions.
Every product saleman knows how to make a table of "reasons" why you should buy their product, where their product amazingly ticks all of the boxes. And so can any explanation of why only google phones are supported. It might be those reasons, or those might be post-facto reasons, and not being the person who made such a decision I cannot know either way. Being rather paranoid, since I can't know either way, I defend against the possibility. It doesn't come off as a "nothing up my sleeve" decision. I mean the odds are far greater that it is a honeypot than, say the 1 in billions odd chance of cracking a short password. The odds might even be 1 in 10. That's pretty damn high odds in the security and cryptography world were odds should be closer to 1 in 2^128.
I know I sound paranoid at first, but I think I am actually logical and reasonable.
