i hope that you have them where you live, they have spread across the world a bit, they can be found in some parts of USA and i think even in australia they got to, and the Beatles made a famous song about them and really, when you one day start to notice them around you, yeah, it's magic, really is

i'm talking about Turdus Merula, the common eurasian blackbird
i'm a big fan of corvids, my favourite overall is the jackdaw, but i find the machinegun sound of magpies amusing and their big long tails and the way they move it quite comical... rooks, well, they strut around in a funny way, and that's kind a cute, and ravens, well, their big curved long beaks and their tool using is fun, and crows, i've seen some very interesting things with those guys in large numbers in amsterdam parks, singing some very strange music
but lil turdus is my favourite
https://i.nostr.build/Z5a6k.jpg their songs are so varied and witty in their construction, and the way that they call and respond to each other across the forest, and when they are foraging, the funny noises they make to warn their mate about kitties or humans incoming
they are just such little wild spirits that i smile every time i hear them sing

i almost want to analyse your post to see where it is manipulative but i'll just leave it aside because my first received message from it was "fucking circle jerk nostr insider wankers who think they are special and never engage"
well, i have seen both pablo and fiatjaf actually have meaningful conversations with me lately so that part is changing, which i am pleased about
but then i read about how others interpreted it to be about dive bombing X influencoors who just post shit and don't bother interacting, and i'm like, ok, yes
that was highlighted by @npub10np…tl5h when he posted the meme about write-only relays, which i thought was pretty spot on, so that's three different angles that came at me in one afternoon
i think that it's all fun, and i hope you all keep hating each other to the max forever and ever amen so we never feel like we are comfortable or safe here
because that is a very bad mindset in a house of mirrors full of people wearing masks

yeah, it's a norm here... every 4th house has a cage with dogs in it that never get outside and bark all the time, you hear them across the valley, and best of all, the valley is rimmed by mostly dense stone walls so all those sounds echo around like fuck, and the people are noisy as fuck
honestly, i hate #madeira but it's not as bad here in the damp, cloudy north, it's quiet a lot, but yeah i'm not planning on retiring here

my neighbours enclose their dogs 99% of the time in a small area right next to my kitchen window and hardly ever spend time with it, and it craves contact and that's what it's about, so i don't blame the animal, i blame the owners, and not enough people even think about this, they get this pet, then they put it out of sight and come back to it and meanwhile everyone else has to live with its psychological torment

there always is, and some do it for their causes, and others do it for the lulz, and still others do it for the mental stimulation
people's models of the world are messed up, and what gets them straight is when they speak it out loud
if you believe something, but never say it, that day you finally say it, you realise that you had been making decisions all that time without actually understanding what you thought you believed

i had someone try to tell me that "expressive" functional and OOP languages are better "because low time preference" as i pointed out those languages have long compilation times
and as i sit here writing really low level code, i'm reminded about how much i liked assembler how it is so simple and lets me think clearly about the logic and puts me into a low time preference mind
expressiveness is not low time preference, it is by definition high time preference, type it fast, then wait forever as it compiles to run oooh fast again
or you can write the code correctly, in assembler, and it takes a long time to write and compiles fast and you can quickly determine the error you made and then fix it and not waiting for the compile build it and confirm it works
just ground my gears a bit is all, come on, low time preference programming is expressive, complex syntax and you are told that by your computer by being made to wait for it to compile
that's why i like #golang and that's why i like assembler
fast to compile, hard to write correctly

it touched on issues that we all had some connection to... for me it was about the inner circle circle jerk, and she wasn't even thinking of that, but rather the big on social media famous names with their blogs and pods crowd who post but never engage, and another of my friends was mad about how some of her language was manipulative, that's 3 different spots on the elephant that i saw, and here is another, and i bet there is a dozen in total, that's why it went viral

i think it will still be a teachable moment... tbh when i read it, i was sorta ho hum, yeah, ok the fancy people post and don't read, but i didn't catch the other parts so much
i would appreciate a point at the exact parts of the expression that resembled or were vicious rhetorical elements so i can recognise them better, i'm already pretty good at catching propaganda word tricks but this is something i missed

also, in theory it should reduce the health damage from ionising radiation too, like X, gamma, cosmic rays, because most of what they do is adding electrons to free radicals that then penetrate to mess up DNA or proteins and with the earth connection it probably goes the other way as well, so if you get excess electrons they are dissipated

basically, it balances your electrostatic charge to neutral and prevents absorption of radio frequency into your body (it just conducts over your skin to the earth)
this diminishes the damage from oxidative and reductive free radicals as they are more likely to encounter their counterpart in the water of your body and be neutralised
it does definitely have an effect on reducing inflammation, and it dialed back a problem i have that was getting worse just before i got my mat and bed sheet, quite bad double vision from type 2 diabetes, it almost immediately fully reverted at first, now it is stabilised and i am not having as much trouble reading or looking at details up close

Well, I don't mind him getting mad and muting me. I do it myself, all the time, even if I hardly have anyone muted, anymore. Most of them probably have me muted, anyway.
But the accusation that I'm pushing some weird American academic social philosophy because I made a pointed critique about drive-by posters from X and Instagram, is ridiculous.

Take a long walk to a coastline, then up a mountain through a forest or jungle, making sure to have some Mexican, Indian, and Thai food along the way, as well as some final conversations looking back on life with my gf, family, and closest friends.

Except that I noted repeatedly that I am increasingly fighting the tendency to act like this, myself, because I find it so irritating when other people do.
And, apparently, I'm not the only one who finds it irritating or counterproductive.
I'm in the line of fire, now, because I wrote a common complaint down so clearly that they finally can't ignore it.

You are wrong about men having no say. We have no say about women's bodies in regard to their health decisions, and women have no say about whether we should go to war to defend their bodies. Men's purpose is to protect the innocent, and there are events where the innocense of the mother transitions to less than the innocense of the infant. Where life begins, and when an emerging human life's rights are recognised are central to this discussion, and it takes both men and women to decide together where that is. The Bible is NOT clear on this, contrary to many so-called christian zealots. One interepretation of the bible is that life begins with the baby's first breath because that is when you recieve the spirit of God. I'm sure you would love that interepretation of what you call an ancient text from a bygone era, but your opinion has no credibility when you reject aeons of mankind's strugle to distill the truth. The nature of man has not changed over the past 200 years, and science has only revealed the necessity moreso than from times of ignorance that we must resolve the conflict between our definitions of murder and human life.
On another note, and to reiterate my criticism; the more common instances of doctors and hospitals claiming they can not perform abortions under any condition whatsoever because of "archaic laws from the 1800s" are intentionally misrepresenting the facts. This in conjunction with attorney generals, most totally corrupt, systemically strike fear in health providers by introducing uncertainty where there should be none. In the case of Wisconsin, the 1800s law was clearly reformed under Governor walker and Wisconsin's highly qualified legislature to account for life threatening and medically necessary produres to preserve the life of the mother over the child. This law, though codified for more than a decade in preparation for an overturning of RvW, is systematically ignored. Rather than doctors with this knowledge standing on this firm legal ground, and rebutting the media and murderous socialist feminist power in government, they cower and leave women to die.

it should be obvious but making a trending feed for nostr instantly narrows it into a twitter bullshitfest
it doesn't seem to be obvious to some people but i saw it right at the beginning, and this "circle jerk" appearance of a small set of popular nostr client devs grated on my gears so hard it made me mad, and i've heard other people say the same thing
so, i have a proposal
let's petition, and shame, to add to the weight of this, how nostr onboarding is being impeded because of this centralisation of the feed by these idiots using trending indicators to filter feeds
it should not be default, at least!
this is not twitter, and will never compete with twitter, the whole point of it is that it is so much more than twitter, threads, facebook, instagram, soundcloud, bandcamp, youtube, all rolled into one, just that right now, those marginal use cases are being swamped by this idiotic reinforcement of popularity as a means to more popularity

interesting, i only read out of it that being too famous is kinda crappy but i was seeing it from the inbox hell side, rather than the plebs are better side
see, i have argued the point with her before also that small follow list is better, i add a few now and then and then trim them back, rarely getting much over 50, and my feed is happiness
she is very chatty though, but i don't mind, as a child my mother tells me that i would not stop talking and she would just smile and nod and sometimes pay attention
