While in NYC, @npub1hqa…t56s asked me if I agreed that while 10 years older and entering middle age, if 40 was still much better than 30. And I agree with him.
At 30, I only had a 6 month old son, and was struggling to pay my mortgage. At 40, I now had 2 kids and a much better life thanks to 10 years of growth - physical, mental, and wealth. Sure, at 30 I could party a bit harder and my back didn't hurt as often as it does now, but those things don't truly matter. My life is vastly better now compared to 10 years ago.
The point of this is to lower your time preference. Good things come to those that wait. Good things come to those that work hard and strive to improve their lives.
On a related note, I didn't get into Bitcoin until late 2020. So, I can't thank Bitcoin for my life improvements. However, I truly believe that Bitcoin is a cheat code that people have available to them today. Take advantage of it.

Also, another important aspect:
#V4V means exchanging whatever we can with no fiat involved whatsoever. We trade with neighboring producers for their products that we don't produce ourselves. So we have vegetables, eggs, meat, dairy, baked goods, etc all covered.
#CircularEconomy means exchanging #bitcoin directly with other businesses that accept it. We buy coffee and some value-added products from producers around the world and pay directly in Bitcoin.
Basically– Avoid fiat at all costs, and exchange as few sats as possible back to fiat only when absolutely necessary!

A child that inherits their parents toxic or detrimental behaviours (e.g. emotional eating, violence, alcoholism, gambling) would subconsciously think that they are committing a betrayal when attempting to overcome those same behaviours on themselves.
It’s becoming what we despised or resented, telling ourselves that’s what life is or what we deserve or what is normal, just so that we are loved and accepted by them (parents).
A child that was hit when growing up could say that they became a good person because they were hit, and hit their own children because that’s what a loving parent would do.
An obese person who as a child binge watched TV with junk food every day at 4pm because that’s what their family did may continue the pattern even after moving to their own place, so that they are still considered part of the clan.

Yes, that's the general idea. We simply decided we were no longer willing to trade our finite time for infinite USD anymore. I'd rather earn bitcoin in whatever ways I can, even if it's currently far less than we earned before in dollar. Opt out completely of the fiat system. At this point it's an experiment and may possibly fail? But on the other hand, I am hopeful that we can build it back piece by piece under an entirely new model– and if we don't at least try to fully embrace the #circulareconomy how can we expect it to work??
The other problem we grappled with was selling food for profit: With inflation rapidly increasing we were forced to raise our prices regularly to keep up. We realized we were eventually pricing out the majority of our neighbors and restricting access to healthy organic food to only those wealthy enough to afford it. So rather than set prices in USD we are opening up to 'pay-what-you-can' and hoping that those who 'can' will help to pay for those who 'can not'.
We are simply not willing to play fiat games any more, and experimenting in an effort to find a new (better?) way of doing 'business'. Maybe it will work, maybe it won't.

A brave new world is now in front of us and it is waiting for new privacy solutions to appear, new decentralized coordinators and inventive technologies that can bridge the overreaching power of authoritarian governments.
Freedom is calling!

The main betrayers of this entire saga were two out of the three founders. Which I consider one of the biggest backstabs of the century in privacy's history. And it came from this two good birds:
Bálint Harmat, co-founder of zkSNACKs Ltd.
https://m.primal.net/IUsx.png
And Hadjú Gergely, previous CEO and co-founder of zkSNACKs Ltd.
https://m.primal.net/IUsy.png
The ultimate reasoning behind my expulsion from Wasabi Wallet was this reasoning:
"Your time have not yet come with this serious level of privacy representation, we think it should be used somewhere at a better place, because this is not for us right now."
https://m.primal.net/IUsz.png
When Bálint said these words, I understood clearly what was the problem, it was me and my mask at conferences and their fear of gaining the wrong attention of dangerous elements. But for me it was still what it was, a stab right in the heart. 💔
https://m.primal.net/IUtA.png
But overall, I consider myself lucky that I was able to call myself part of Wasabi Wallet's history. From the humble beginnings, to the ultimate end, and today marks the day for that.

I have attended wonderful conferences and I am glad I was able to talk to you guys while representing Wasabi out in the wild and being a consistent privacy advocate for the company, which have ultimate lead to my exit from the company.

https://m.primal.net/IUso.png
https://m.primal.net/IUsp.png
https://m.primal.net/IUss.png
If I were to give my self a good advice for my older self it would be that to never date someone who is addicted to any kind of drugs and to take a leave when one of your relative passes away, do not force a company above all at any costs. Should have said no when I should have.
The main betrayal otherwise was though done to me in Lugano at Lugano Plan B Forum when I was forcefully removed from the conference for wearing a privacy mask on site. I was extremely upset that back at home I was the problem, not the treatment that I have received at the conference, instead of holding my side, they protected those who dragged me out for absolutely no reason.
https://m.primal.net/IUsu.png
Still consider to have a beef over this, that I never managed to settle, that nobody literally held my side at home over my removal from the conference for absolutely no reason at all and it was referred to as a "disgrace" rather then a disaster for privacy at a conference.
https://m.primal.net/IUsv.png
Did years of consistency and representation of privacy meant nothing at this point? I have seriously considered laying off the mask and not attending any more conferences due to this experience. And I think I have ultimately did that in the end.
https://m.primal.net/IUsw.png
But the ultimate betrayal came after a payroll dispute I had with
Max over a leave period I needed to recover from the past months of stress, loss and other issues I had after going to the conferences. Don't understand me wrong, the problem here weren't the guys, I still consider Rafe and Max great guys and good leaders for Wasabi ultimately.

We once were respected. Your boy did this, got stoned for it. Don't mention it guys. https://m.primal.net/IUsW.png
I have single handedly fixed the release stream by preventing our digital artist from standing up and leaving after being upset with how Max was organizing the release stream. My way always worked Max. 😘

I managed to sort out the search process for professionals for verifying the cryptographic implementation of Wasabi Wallet 2.0, this assured that the wallet functions properly and the guys didn't fuck up rolling their own crypto.
In Miami I have given an interview for @DN_no
which I consider one of the best unreleased conversations I have ever had about the role of Wasabi Wallet and Privacy in the world. They never sent us the video or posted any pictures for some reason, likely they were feds trying to dig up dirt on us, but they have failed because that video in itself was extremely exonerating for the company against all accusations.

But every once in a while, everything good have to come to and end. Although it have been a bit of time as my role have slowly diminished as Max and Rafe took over control. This is what I have called the beginning of the end.

Today is the day when the company behind Wasabi Wallet
will be shutting down. So it is time to tell you my story, of how it all started and how it all ended, a personal side of the Wasabi Wallet saga in this chapter of the Privacy Wars.
https://m.primal.net/IUrx.png
It all started with a message in my DMs that Wasabi Wallet have sent me, saying they would like to talk to me about a opportunity to contribute to the company and collaborate actively. Little did I know this was a hidden job opportunity for me that will fully drag me into the privacy wars. With my relationship already shambolic with Scamourai Wallet and their zombie hordes, it was a logical decision to join a side of the war, the implied winning side, but did I know nobody will be a winner in this war but a loser on all fronts.
On the 25th of September, 2021, I started working at Wasabi Wallet after a short negotiation and discussion in the role of Community and Reputation Management for zkSNACKs Ltd. Although it was obvious my role was much more broad so this was just a fancy keyword for everything.
https://m.primal.net/IUrz.png
I had to solve many obstacles and provide critical feed back for individuals working at the company starting in the early days but as we progressed my role at the company have diminished and personal differences made it difficult to get around or be acknowledged.
I still remember within my first week I managed to yank nopara73
out of his comfort zone and get him to get on a boring train ride to Paralelni Polis, his first ever Hacker's Congress that I convinced him to attend and I am sure he never got to regret it.
https://m.primal.net/IUsB.png
This was one of the best conference experience I had that I was able to attend with a friend, never had this chance before, but it was quite fun. I'm proud to call him a friend even to this day long after I have separated away from Wasabi.
https://m.primal.net/IUsC.png
The overall progress at the company focused on developing WabiSabi, Wasabi Wallet 2.0 which hit many obstacles, developer disagreements, personality incompatibilities, no-coiners in the company and financial interests. We had to ditch a Google employee that worked at us also.

I totally agree with you.
Just yesterday an acquaintance told me that capitalism was dead, that it could not go on any longer.
I told him: What capitalism is dead? the united states has been a social democracy for more than 100 years.
With tax rates higher than 50% of the GDP in most countries, how dare you say capitalism?
If anything, what is happening is that the social democracies are failing, as long as your money is managed by a third party, everything ends up the same, badly.

Hacking away in oslo on an iOS-style navigation control for egui, the ui library we use in damus notedeck/android. Slowly building a multiplatform, mobile-friendly ui toolkit not dependant on any particular operating system.
Since this is not web tech, we have all of the power of a bare metal app. It’s so flexible you could even embed damus into a game engine and render it within a game, all we need is a graphics context to render to.
Maybe one day this stack can be used to build a completely sovereign mobile OS with native nostr and bitcoin integration. Might be a crazy idea, but you never know!

Bitcoiners are builders. I've just had the craziest day testing out a few tools built with the Pear Stack and talking with so many new people who are finally dipping their toes in the water to build something, who are reaching out to hire developers, who are looking for funds to devote everything to #Nostr, #Bitcoin, or #Pear.
I just used a remote desktop app this morning that works on Pear Runtime, immediately solved my biggest problem with RustDesk, has no accounts and no setup, and he literally put it together to work on Mac in a day.
I've hired 2 devs myself who are absolutely stoked about being able to go all in on this and see all the things they can build. The Keet rooms we started for these projects are buzzing with excitement and everyone is looking for what they can do to contribute.
I'm reading @npub1t0n…jgqv's recent pieces on Fedimint, and just got to install Fedi Bravo and start exploring it. Ecash is about to explode on the scene in a major way, imo. Harbor wallet, ecash for desktop by the insane work from the @npub1mut…23vg guys is around the corner.
Don't get distracted by the noise, don't get disheartened. SO much shit is happening and so many people are invested, and I don't mean invest in "going to the moon" or "getting rich," but in the fact that they realize we CAN fucking build the future we want and we ARE going to get there. It's happening, I feel like I'm using so much of that future already today and I can see how it will work, and what it will be like.
No amount of violence can stop an idea whose time has come. We are going to win.

No, that’s not it. The hashing is about making the content addressable, which means that the *where* the data, the media, comes from, is non-important.
Ok, that gives us the same thing relays give us on nostr, so what?
The next piece of the puzzle is the pubkey, tying a blob’s hash to a pubkey allows you to easily retrieve the list of blossom servers that pubkey uses; so when you have a url from a pubkey pointing to server1 as the place to find file with hash1
When server1goes down/censors, you can ask nostr in the same way we use outbox model to find which is the new server for that same pubkey
You now have a list of candidates servers that pubkey moved to and a hash; you can just ask for the hash to those servers and voila, maybe you’ll get your file.
Since you also can talk about this blob by its hash you can use other tricks to find it or DVMs to go and do the searching for you in exchange for some sats.
It really is extremely simple but it works and it’s super powerful.

It still doesn't change how you should approach such a threat. Waiting until the authorities declare an emergency to prepare is silly.
1. Fear is the worst emotion you can employ to deal with any threat
2. Your innate immune system is powerful & adaptive if it is not suppressed by toxic crap
3. Being resilient to the breakdowns in the supply of food, water, energy & basic necessities (eg soap, toilet paper) is useful
4. Being away from densely populated areas or being able to withdraw from them quickly is useful
5. Having anti microbial tools available should you or your loved ones be infected is useful. Colloidal silver, ivermectin, antibiotics, iodine & chlorine dioxide are all useful in many situations to varying degrees.

Explanation of the situation for dummies:
- The U.S. government are sons of bitches.
- The Russian government are sons of bitches.
- The government of China are sons of bitches.
- The governments of Europe are sons of bitches and retards.
-China is competing for world hegemony against the USA.
- The US believes that the best way to maintain its hegemony is to eliminate Russia from the board, sacrificing its pawn Europe. And in the process avoiding what the US fears most, a Europe-Russia union.
- The US also intends to execute the same move with China, with the excuse of the "invasion" of Taiwan and dragging countries like South Korea and Japan into the war with China along with all the US Pacific bases, which are not few in number.
- Evidently this is the US plan but China has its own plan, which at the moment is to support Russia in whatever is necessary.
The important thing here are the Europeans, as you can see the whole US plan has many loose ends, and little do we know about the plans of Russia and China, but we do know that the Eropeans are going to screw us and we are going to be the game board.
I don't know what the solution is, but keep it in mind, don't be fooled, they are all sons of bitches, look after yourself and your family and think with your head.

Yeap I do believe so and completely agree with you.. learned it the hardest way during Covid, but that's fine, it was the biggest incentive and need that pushed me towards studying monetary theories and #bitcoin.. someone I know loves to say "everything happens for a reason", and I am taling it that way.
Unfortunately what I must do today is something my moral tells me to, even knowing I will be in a situation I would like to avoid.. I feel so awkward at funerals, even more when I am close to that person.. and I feel bad and selfish thinking about how much I don't like them.

Remember that they have to collect all your data (which will never be deleted and end up in dark net markets)…
and at one point the government or other criminals will know what you got and might be coming for you.

Nostr needs a white-label community client. Something where I can set it up, point it to a domain I own and configure a group id. Then, when any of the members of my community come to the site and try to join, they are set up with a real and valid nostr key but everything is opinionated to hide that from them a bit. They're automatically joined to the group. (pending admin approval)
The client would then show only posts from members of the group. They could then see things like calendar events, marketplace stalls, group chats, live streams / videos all restricted to their group. (unless they hit the 'all' button)
This would make it easy to set up a community around a specific topic and hand-hold the less-technically-savvy to get set up on the community site. It's only when they go to some other nostr site do they realize that it's already picking up their information from this group and then they can start learning about nostr as more than just a thing for their sugar glider breeding community or whatever.

I did great in high school and was so concerned about being top of my class and always having good grades. Then I did poorly (I thought I did, but not really) on a really important test and was crazy upset about it at the end of my junior year.
My biology teacher, who was a seriously cool guy and had a really solid lookout on life, sat down with me and reframed how I thought about how the relationship between the real world and this ridiculous controlled experiment called “schooling.” Literally blew my fucking mind. Suddenly I saw school for what it really was and all of my frustrations and anxiety about it made so much more sense. SO much of it had felt pointless to me but I couldn’t explain why.
I immediately let go of the weight of it all and had a great senior year realizing that my frame should be on what I wanted to do afterward that was going to matter, and how my high school GPA basically wouldn’t mean shit in that regard. I still did pretty great, ended up 4th in my class, but literally all of the anxiety had vanished when I saw it for what it was.
I’ll never forget what a profound impact such a simple change in perspective was. And how quickly I was looking back on my “old self” and thinking what an idiot he was for not seeing what was right in front of him. Even something that he had felt and had itched at him for years, but couldn’t understand.
I look back now and realize that 99% of what I learned during those years that was even slightly useful, was all in Science Olympiad, which was basically a series of engineering challenges for students to compete on. It had nothing to do with my classes or my grades.
Had it not been for that, I would be shocked at how utterly pointless all of it really was. I can’t believe the amount of time and energy I had put toward something that was so meaningless when it came to the real world.
Homeschool your kids and teach them something useful. #note18t3…lh9g
