Yup. I've made some optimizations for Coop. The result is that it now uses only around 80MB of memory on Linux with 200+ messages and 10+ active chats.

After one week of replacing my MacBook Pro with a ThinkPad, I've made the right choice and have absolutely no regrets. I've installed both Fedora and Windows 11 LTSC on it. Somehow, Windows provides a worse experience and is less stable than Linux in 2025 - which is amazing! 🤣

cc @npub18kz…x5sz , NIP-01 specifies using `NOTICE` to send messages to clients, but the relay `inbox.nostr.wine` is sending `NOTIFY`. This causes the rust-nostr sdk to fail to parse the message.

Sadly, GPUI doesn’t support android and ios yet. The GPUI team is open to the idea, but it won’t happen anytime soon since they’re still focused on Zed Editor.
when I port coop to mobile, I’ll try a different gui (not egui).

At least games and LLMs are optional, but over-engineered system UI is unacceptable. The transparency effects consume excessive resources, essentially forcing users to upgrade to the latest hardware for a smooth experience.

windows font rendering is suck with 1080p screen, you need at least 200 dpi for look good, and the last time I use windows, hdr barely work 😅

BEFORE:
- Monitor: 4K OLED, HDR10, glossy...
- Phone: iPhone or top-tier Android phones
- GPU: RTX 4000+
- Keyboard: Only used mechanical keyboards
- Headphones: Premium Bluetooth earbuds with ANC
AFTER:
- Monitor: 1080p IPS is fine
- Phone: Any budget Chinese Android phone works
- GPU: iGPU are sufficient, no dGPU needed
- Keyboard: $10 no-brand keyboard
- Headphones: $5 Xiaomi wired earbuds with 3.5mm jack
The only high-end device I still own is a MacBook, solely because it runs macOS. I'll switch to a ThinkPad once Linux improves.

After carefully reviewing @npub1r0r…q9ac feedback, I realize that I struggle to explain things clearly to new users. Some features make sense when you have data, but for new users, they can be quite confusing.
Here’s what I’m working on to improve the experience:
- Add a proper onboarding process to give a brief introduction to the app.
- Make the folder feature optional - it’s useful for organizing 100+ chats, but for new users with fewer than 10 chats, it can be confusing.
- Add a contact search feature for easier connections.
- Add a self-chat option for saving notes.
- As a chat app, it feels pretty boring when you have no contacts or ongoing conversations. You open the app and just see a blank screen. I plan to improve this by adding public channels and communities.

it not really nip46 fault, but nip46 involve the network, so sometimes it not reliable when my network is suck or some problem with relay. when all conditions are good, nip46 work best.

I not have much knowledge on cryptography, but from my understand. If you main key is A, you created some delegated keys X, Y and Z, then you published some notes which each keys.
When other users want to find your notes, they need to get its from all pubkeys of A, X, Y, Z 🤔

I'm working on Chat Folders features, it will split your inbox into multiple folder, which will maybe includes:
- Inbox: all chats from people in your contact list or you have response
- Incoming: all chats not from "Inbox" but they have good reputation (verify vertex dvm)
- Strangers: others, mostly spam

@npub180c…h6w6 I've found the problem that cause this issue, I've a subscription to get metadata (contact list, metadata,...) for all users, but I didn't point a specific discovery relay for this subscription, so Coop will try to connect to all user's NIP-65 relays at the same time.
I didn't see this issue because I always use a test account which didn't follow anyone and message list is few. 🥲
