There is no year zero. We went from 1BC to 1AD because zero wasn't a number until much later. But ISO 8601, the date format we use for web apps, does have a zero year, so 3BC maps to the year -0002.

One of the most interesting things of this refactoring to get Amethyst into the outbox model is the realization that many parts of nostr don't provide guidance for relay hints.
For instance, when you follow a hashtag. Which relays are you following the hashtag on? Is it one relay for all hashtags or each hashtag you follow needs to have a relay list for itself?
Same for locations, labels, reports, products, DVMs, blogs, etc, etc, etc.
Following keys is the easy part.

I feel like I remember scenes when I was a toddler. But the truth is that I only "remember" them because I have pictures of them. My mind creates a whole experience that I think it is true even though I know my mind couldn't have stored all that from that time.
With sufficient data from my friends, realistic memories can be injected through fake pictures that just show up with a past date in your Google Photos. Your mind will build an entire experience around them that never existed but you will think it is real as everything else.

Fascinating! AI can be 6 times more effective in changing people's views than humans by... checks notes... lying the hell out of everything (like pretending to be a rape victim).
How were they so effective? Before replying, another bot stalked the post history of the target, learned about them and their beliefs, and then crafted responses that would perfectly one-shot them.
Very unethical experiment, but it shows the true power of what unscrupulous people can achieve with these tools.

To me the main issue isn't the format, but the fact that each DVM type requires a different button and custom screens. Bundling all DVMs as one thing is never going to work, even if they expose their schemas and have a round of discovery, because in the end, a programmer must adapt its code to EACH dvm.
Otherwise, you are limited to "chat" interfaces, which are a terrible UI for most practical appliations.

Yeah, that is definitely an ORM :)
The issue with hiding how the note is encoded from devs is the fact that the other devs will interfere with the chosen conversion and add their own variation to the event. It's easy to do if the conversion is the standard for everybody and enfornced by relays in some form. If not, then we are back to manipulating tag arrays by hand.
I had that structure in the early versions of Amethyst. I ended up giving up to allow the screen itself to load from and write to tag arrays directly.

Fun fact. Postgres doesn't delete any columns, EVER. Not even full vacuum does it. They are all soft deleted.
In fact, if you modified your table so much that you run into the column limit, your only option is to create a new table and copy the data over there.
AWS and the NSA are loving this.

I used Gentoo as my daily driver on a Sony laptop for 4 years between 2007 and 2011. I appreciate the knowledge I gain of compiling the kernel and every app from scratch, but from a productivity perspective, it was a complete waste of time.

Users don't need Instagram, WhatsApp, or LinkedIn. They need fun, family and friends, and work contacts. They couldn't care less which apps or brands are providing those experiences. They will use whatever the target community uses. App brands are simply a shortcut to describe specifically what they want to do. The best apps simply help define and polish that desire further.

Did you get 6 zeros randomly in your event id?
That is awesome.
Anyway, Amethyst does show them because most PoW signers weren't committing their desired pow in the nonce tag in the past. In the same way, PoW relays didn't seem to care about having the nonce tag. They were just counting the zeros on the id. But we can change that on our side if people now require that tag.

You can deport people back to their countries or you can jail them by getting convictions in court in the US. You cannt deport people into a slave labor on a third-party country jail without any argument in the courts. Everyone is innocent until proven otherwise. You have to prove it in court.
