I enjoy building things, figuring out how they work, breaking them occasionally, and then learning far more than I originally intended while putting them back together.<br/><br/>I’m also partially deaf, and my hearing continues to decline. Because of that, I’ve developed a pretty eclectic relationship with music and sound. I try to enjoy as much of it as I can while I can — everything from an angelic a cappella singer to full-on death metal, German music, Arabic music, songs in languages I don’t speak, and instruments with completely different textures and histories.<br/><br/>Sometimes I’m listening for the melody. Sometimes the rhythm. Sometimes the voice, the language, or just the strange and beautiful sound of an instrument like a hurdy-gurdy. Asking not to be gay.
