Hey IceCubesApp (npub1cnh…wtw0) just recently switched from Mona. Really digging this app and how featureful it is!

Only issue is that I have another account on an instance with a custom glitch-soc roll and the notification tab is completely broken. I’m wondering if it has something to do with the weird glitch-soc endpoints or something, on Mona I had regular issues with the notification subscriptions (I think) causing 429 errors.

I was perusing the issues on GitHub and I see that someone mentioned an issue almost exactly like mine, though I didn’t try their fix with removing the force V2 line and recompiling. I see you marked the issue as closed, does that mean this fix is going to be in an upcoming version?

So my beef isn’t with them charging for their work. In fact, I think $25 for a lifetime purchase is actually really good. $25 a year is fine for an app I’d use daily.

My issue is with the fact that this is the same app that I already paid for a lifetime license for. It’s just an increment from V6.X to V7.X
And I know it’s the same app because I’ve been in the beta forever (lifetime license owners get priority TestFlight access) and I’ve been using version 7.X for months. If this was a ground-up rewrite I’d be a little more understanding, but this is a switch to the Liquid Glass UI elements that are in Xcode now on top of the same underlying app

It looks really interesting to me! I love the idea of staying on the fediverse but still being able to follow people on BSKY, which is the big thing that bridgy will never really solve due to the opt-in nature of it. Also, it would be nice to only have 1 account again instead of one fedi/one bsky.

I've also played with sharkey a bit on yeen.town and I REALLY liked that, but the fact that it's not 100% compatible with my mastodon apps of choice killed it for me. The third party *key app space is not nearly as mature as mastodon or even BSKY's.

If Sharkey ever got there though, where I could enable push notifications, I could totally see myself making the jump if I could migrate both accounts into one

They're re-recording all the lines and remastering all the audio, which is interesting. Maybe that means they'll be using stems to prevent those long silent walks during Assault on the Control Room. Though I'm kinda partial to those long silent walks for the vibes
Also added sprint but aren't changing the maps, which I kinda like. My biggest issue with sprint in Halo 4/5/6 is that it changed the way the campaign maps were designed. I don't mind being able to move fast when I want to.

Overall looks real good to me honestly. I'm okay with some changes, especially since the MCC version of halo 1 got updated to be totally fixed and now the definitive edition of that game.

I've been recommended to look in to those and I've definitely been interested in em. I've been getting a build up of insomnia pretty bad recently and even with regular breaks from em I haven't been getting nearly the theraputic effect that I used to get. Even when I up the does by 10mg it just makes me all cracked out instead of productive.

I've been having a weird reaction to my vyvanse this past month. Like, I'll feel like a zombie once it kicks in.

I'll be able to focus when I get down to focus on something, but most of the time I'm just there, sitting, my brain barely having a thought while I can feel my body physically stress out about the work I'm not doing.

It wasn't like this initially so I don't know what's changed recently! It was so helpful for a very long time, and now while unmedicated I find that I don't get as much work done as I used to when it was peak utility, but I at LEAST get MORE work done than I do when I'm having a bad meds day.

I've been reading a bit of anecdotal stuff from the various ADHD and Vyvanse forums and subreddits and some others are having the same issue sometimes, mostly women strangely enough. They all mention it's improved my self-managing your daily tasks and priorities a little better, that Vyvanse gives you the fuel to do the work but you gotta put the work in front of you.

Yeah there is a big culture issue with Mastodon that really needs to be solved on the individual or server moderation level. I hate "assimilate or get out" vibes.

But I think honestly the BIGGEST friction is not with any of the actual functionality or features of Mastodon, I think a lot of people would genuinely like these features. It's just that there ARE so many features that are worth (not necessarily necessary) learning but that's a big ask when there's not a lot of actual content here to drive people to learn something new

I did NOT expect this hood to make me feel so head spacey. I could barely hear and I definitely couldn’t see anything. Any time someone touched me, it was way more intense than normal. I also had the big thick silicone paws on so my own sense of touch was deadened a little. Anything intense I felt was always at the hands of others which is a very horny malleable place to be if you like that kind of thing.

Also, having the big squishy silicone fuck tube in my muzzle was a really good feeling, I couldn’t talk or anything, just squish the tube open and closed. I’m once again seeing a bunch of people post about how busted big monolithic social media can be, but also talk about how they’ll just go back to FA or something because mastodon is too confusing for the average person

At this point I think I’m just too disconnected from the average social media user to judge. I don’t get what’s so confusing about fedi. You make an account, you follow, you interact. The only real edge case I could think of is if people are sending you links to posts and you’re clicking on those which opens a web page on their instance or something, which is an annoying weird edge case yeah

But for 99.9% of the rest of your time, it’s just like the rest of the sites!
I think so many people just need to touch this site again and really give it a try to see it’s not, like, a bunch of different forums or whatever other unfit comparison people use

Okay in my ever-changing directive to figure out where to exist on the social internet, I have turned on Mastodon -> BSKY crossposting again, so posts go here first and then are mirrored to Mastodon. I didn't like my Masto accounts just being essentially boost bots.

I'm hoping when the whole ANewSocial Bounce thing comes out, I can eventually just have one normal and one AD account, but we'll see how that shakes out

As much as I love mastodon, switching to BSKY as my main profile has really reminded me how much I enjoy having a thriving social feed. I don’t think I have an unhealthy relationship with it, I rarely actually check it.

But man, when I do, it’s so nice to have it so lively with so much art and so many pictures

The possibility of Bounce is really cool. Keeping up two accounts on two different platforms sucks, so being able to move from one to the other is really cool.

I’m VERY curious as to how they’ll handle unbridged accounts because that will make or break this for many people.

Depending on how good it is, I could see myself migrating my BSKY account (more follows and stuff)

I love Mastodon so much for so many reasons, but I'm kinda getting tired of running 2 accounts, so I think I'm gonna stop making regular posts here and just keep that to my bridged BSKY, 🛰️「mongrel mind」🌕 (npub1fkf…qva7)

I think I'll still make more journal or blog type posts here but if you want regular sig stream-of-consciousness posts, I'd say follow my bridged account too.

I just don't have the bandwidth, AND I keep seeing my friends getting confused by following and reposting my bridged mastodon stuff on BSKY and then I'm not able to see their responses, and I've gotten tired of asking people to follow the bridge to help alleviate that.

At this point, one of the main reasons I stick around is because the 3rd party mastodon apps are just SO much better than the BSKY apps.

I love this place and I'm not leaving, I'm just kinda changing what's posted here
