Fuck you sony for ruining absolutely everything that was beautiful about your consoles:<br/><br/><br/><br/>- You cannot keep your pictures/music/videos on the console&#39;s HDD since PS4 (PS3/PSP/PSVita all had that capability. And no, making a separate free application for PS4 and requiring pendrive filled with those media does not count. Besides, PS5 does not have such application and only features media app for screenshots and recorded gameplay. Unlike PS3 or PS4, this console lacks any kind of DLNA support. But you know what PS5 supports? Streaming applications like Netflix!)<br/><br/>- Online play is for free only for free live service games. Every paid game that has some kind of online functionality requires the purchase of PS Plus since 2013&#39;s PS4. Effectively you DO NOT have all the features the game offers until you pay the subscription. Thanks Microsoft and Xbox for introducing this bullshit since original Xbox from 2001.<br/><br/>- You CANNOT copy your PS5 save game file to the pendrive to back it up. Instead, PS Plus subscription offers cloud saves, so Sony can back it up on their own servers. PS4/PS3/PSP (not sure about Vita, but nowadays probably possible due to cfw) supports manually backing up the saves.<br/><br/>- PS5&#39;s UI does not offer any kind of proper theming. While PS3/PSP supports custom made themes on top of downloading some from the PS Store and internet and PSVita/PS4 at the very least allowed the latter one with some free themes available on their storefronts, PS5 has 5 themes built-in (a feature that was added during PlayStation&#39;s 30th anniversary as a bonus, that was later on removed and then restored after backlash) and welcome screen customisation with widgets and custom background support. No ability to make/add/buy any other theme.<br/><br/>- And now the worst one: on January 2028, Sony will discontinue producing physical disks of video games… Do I even need to say anything at this point? What the actual fuck is this?<br/><br/><br/>I&#39;ve been passionate about Sony consoles ever since I got PSP back in 2008. I was a little gnome back then and played the shit out of this console. Then in 2012 I got PS3 with 2 PS Move contollers and 3 games. To this day its one of my favorite consoles ever made. I&#39;ve been spending unhealthy amount of time learning about this consoles, what it offers, how troubled history it had, how stupidly awesome its Cell processor is. To this day I have that console and collect physical games for it. And now in 2026, having this giant paperweight called PS5, which I barely touch, mostly meant to play Cyberpunk 2077 and GTA VI in the future (I didn&#39;t even pre-order the game yet… Not until Rockstar releases a proper gameplay and it piques my interest). I guess I can safely say that I will never buy a next PlayStation console and this is the last last one I&#39;m going to own.
