My first bike was in the late 60s in Forest Hills Gardens, NYC. It was an adult bike that had been left abandoned in our basement by the previous owners.

It was far too big for 7 year old me. To ride it, I leaned it up against a tree and climbed up. I couldn't pedal and sit, so I pedaled standing up. To stop, I had to slow down and grab a tree or simply fall over, which I did a lot.

Horrendous! I love 'em.

There is currently no reliable way to measure infectious aerosols, but one CAN measure C02, which tells you whether the air you're breathing is from other people's exhalations or from fresh air brought inside.

C02 is a proxy. The higher the level of CO2 in the air, the more likely it is to be from someone else's exhalations and the higher the risk of infection.

After much deliberation, I did buy the new Burley Hopper.

I love it. Attaches to my trusty old bike, and off to the grocery store I go. It's actually bigger than a grocery cart because of the high sides. I had to remember that and not overload it. Not because of the Hopper's capacity, but because of mine. The hills on the way home had me huffing and puffing.

I had it in cart mode in the store, haul it home, back to cart mode and up the elevator right into my unit.

We don't have artists that have the balls to write and perform protest songs today, do we?

We don't have a Woodie Guthrie, Arlo Guthrie, Joe Hill, Bob Dylan or Billie Holiday.

After what happened to the Dixie Chicks, artists are too afraid of losing 100 followers on Instagram to speak up.

Or am I wrong? I hope I am.

Dinner for sixteen tonight, and strangely, everything is on schedule.

Mac Salad is done. Desert (millefoglie) is done. Huli-huli chicken has been marinating since yesterday, and just needs to be grilled, sliced and put in the warmer. Ginormous quantities of rice set out and ready to go before dinner.

I'm sure I must be missing 𝙨𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜.

We used to get excellent service for our car. For routine maintenance (rare), they'd send a technician out to our home and he'd do the service in our own garage. Primo.

Last week, while charging, I got an error message, "Unable to start vehicle. Service needed." 😬

I was able to reboot the computer, and get the car back home. I sent in a service request, and got an appointment, but they now tell me that if the car won't start, I need to have it towed. 90 miles to Lake Elmo, MN. 😒
