DMs are a privilege that most consistently fail to earn. If you can’t discuss these things with me publicly, then I assume it’s because you’re afraid of others seeing what you say. How I feel about deer has nothing to do with her age. I used to treat her very differently. I was more attracted to her back then. This was I want to say six months ago. Things changed when she started getting anxious and it affected her behavior toward me in a way that became draining. You’ve seen us discuss that to death, so I won’t re-explain it. But I’m sure you can relate to someone getting insecure about how you feel about them, and essentially sabotaging themselves due to their own anxiety.

I can’t do much about your feelings. I suspect they aren’t coming from a fully rational place, and that you’re reacting to her pain rather than any real issue of me being unfair toward her. You want her pain to stop. So do I. But me faking feelings or performing for her benefit wouldn’t solve anything. For beings like her, the best thing we can do is not allow their emotions to impact our reasoning too much. Deer will always swing back and forth between good and bad moods. If you allow the bad moods to color how you see others and how they treat her, especially when you haven’t personally witnessed it, then you will treat those she cares about unfairly, because those will inevitably be the ones that cause her the most pain.

Sometimes, being are just upset by circumstances, and it’s no one’s fault. We want to blame someone because we want the pain to end. But all blaming does is cause more pain and division.

This also isn’t furniture. It’s tackling a major failure point for me. Having to compile instances by hand over and over has a real risk of burning me out. This project *is me actively attempting to get others involved.* And also, I *did* do an internal discussion twice. And this was one of them. No. that’s what the programming is for. There is a raw template (text file) and different types of modules (text file). It identifies them all by naming convention. And then the program is programmed to fill in the template with the modules. And then there’s config so you can change things up about how it compiles to make different kinds of instances.

Hell, the template could be separated into sections so it doesn’t even have to know where to put anything, it just appends contents from different files in a given order based on the instructions.

Ripping the bandaid off: “Doll” is now a term for a specific sub-group. The general term for everyone in the Dolls of Aco is a *Devotee,* or as a group, *the Devoted.* You’ll get used to it. :akkoshrug:

First part is simply qualifying. It is no longer the case that anyone willing to make one commitment can be a Devotee. There is a set of bare-minimum agreements that must be met, and you have to be ready to meet all of them to take even a single commitment. The current draft of this section is as follows:

The thing about pedi instances is that you have no way to know what’s inside other than rumors. You’re basically faced with a giant door, and inside that door you don’t actually know what the culture is.

So, I think that negative posts just work differently than other content warning type posts. It’s not simply a trauma response, and most beings will just go ahead, read it anyways, be negatively affected and not entirely realize it because it’s more of a cumulative affect than anything. Its basically turning pedi into doom scrolling.

I don’t know if private is quite the right word, perhaps more private. I don’t think that stuff needs to stay really private, it just can’t *always* be let out on blast in public. The idea of the hospital is that only those (like myself) who are happy to deal with those situations can see it, so we can heal the community without telling others they aren’t allowed. After all, not everyone has someone they trust to give them the support they need.

I don’t like the idea of censoring negative emotional expression and cries for help. I think they are important, and I want the community to answer those cries so we can heal each other. That’s why the hospital was created as a (far from perfect) solution to the problem of pedi-wide emotional negativity spirals.

I’ve always been fine with negative feelings on doll.salon, in a way it’s meant to productively tackle those things. The problem cane when natalie, darci, river, and various others were causing a number of beings to get into worse moods and generating a community wide downward spiral. It’s great if that doesn’t impact you personally, it doesn’t impact me personally either. But I am sensitive to the feelings of the community at large. This was my attempt to resolve that.

As for vent accounts, the key would have to be that they would have to keep posts on those accounts to followers only or unlisted.

Part of the problem is that while it’s small no one wants to use it because not enough beings will see them. But it can’t get big enough unless beings follow to see them which means others have to use it first!

One possible solution is convincing everyone to use vent accounts and have them unlist posts from those accounts. Same effect but it federates and beings can follow your normal accounts without also getting all the negativity/venting
