In 2010 Obama eliminated the federal guaranteed loan program,
which allowed private lenders to offer student loans at low interest rates.
The Dept of Education was now in charge of loans.
They made loans easier to get, not cheaper.
Student debt skyrocketed and by 2015 almost 30% were in default.
