The Moon might be waning, but #Pride is waxing. Unlike the moon, I don't believe there is a "pride peak" so to speak. You need to use the correct rhythm though, which can be tricky to figure out. As a bonus, it may also warm up the clay and accelerate the process.

When successful, it will allow the moisture to escape (via evaporation) and the clay will crumble more easily.

In this example, the redness is a positive indicator for moisture and warmth.

It's well known how one is meant to use the darkness of a new moon to seed their intentions. When appropriately nourished, and maintained, the results may be harvested during subsequent full moons. It is still important to find a patch of soil in the aether that will be a good fit for your seeds.

You might already be familiar with some potential areas (https://lgbtqia.space/@h3mmy/114587038876051028) and subsequent blooms in #ContemplatingPupation but I would recommend being prepared for more scenarios as well. Here's an example of something to keep in mind if you find a great location, but certain soil qualities appear to be... lacking.

If you squeeze some soil in your hand and it forms a ribbon without breaking, you are likely dealing with a clay that is too wet. Yes, it's very moldable, easy to shape, etc. This is a good quality sometimes, like when you want a pliable plaything that can withstand all sorts of twisted pressure.

However, clay tends to have some issues with water flow. It is harder for water and nutrients to move through clay with its tiny pores. To make this impressionable soil actually useful for growth purposes, we'll need to make it crumble.

First, we need to ensure that it's not too wet. If it forms that elastic ribbon, then it's too wet, too pliable, and will just leave you with a sopping mess. If it falls apart under pressure, then it is something we can enrich, and reconstruct.

There are several ways to accomplish this goal, and it's best to experiment to find out which one works best for the soil you have. Sometimes simply exposing it to heat and maybe roughing up the surface is enough. Other times you might need to add some suction.

Here is an example featuring Lillie/Lilith (npub17qc…v9a0) (Part 1 of 4)

Link to [Part 2](https://lgbtqia.space/@h3mmy/116667070115692484)

#KatPics #SnaredEnrichment #KatMagic #RopeArt #GooglyEyes #Rope #BooblyEyes

People sometimes think of a #kink dynamic only in terms of power exchange. It's more like a trust exchange. One party may choose to trust another to provide safety, tranquility, comfort, etc. That gift of trust is what is infused with power. The offering should be made with an appropriate expression of limits and bounds. The entity to which the offer is made is often, but not always a practitioner of the arts. They etch and line the boundaries, ideally capturing the intent of the supplicant. Once sealed, the ritual begins, and can manifest in many forms.

Within the circle, there is safety, accompanied by an outpouring of vulnerability, droplets of which harbor the essence of the devotee. These are cared for and woven into the ritual. The threads can undo a person altogether as the essence is drawn out into the aether. A mind set free to wander the void, leaving the consciousness intact within its vessel. It's a vulnerable state, and it leaves the beings highly suggestible, sometimes devoid of purpose, and easily put to good use.

The entity in control, the weaver, the witch, the queen of the hive; they have discretion as to what choices to make. As you are allowed to peek out of your enclosure after quite a rest, you see a snippet of such a ritual in action... The brisk smell of a big lake is rather complex. Musky smells of nature in summer, blended with the hints of pine, blooming lilacs, sun-baked sand and driftwood, it can be oh so intoxicating and refreshing. It changes depending on the lake, the season, and what exactly you're up to. Summertime smells are very toasty. You can almost taste the minerals in the air with how intense the sun can be.

The days are long, and full of unrelenting sunshine. For aquatic creatures, this can mean returning to deeper water to cool off. For occasionally aquatic creatures, it may mean hopping up on a shaded platform to enjoy a nice cool breeze.

This tie was done pretty close to the summer solstice. There is an air-conditioning unit to the left of the frame. It's a pretty cozy variant of a mermaid tie. There is also the option of including an armbinder, or otherwise anchoring the wrists to form a cozy hogtie for any wild creatures one may encounter. I may post examples of those in the coming weeks.

#KatPics #Rope #Shibari #RopeBondage #RopeArt

A sweet grassy smell dances elegantly along the air. It's a nice muted hemp. You inhale deeply to savor the taste, and release it with a long slow breath. You open your eyes to find yourself still in your enclosure. You don't often get the smells from your little tours, so it's definitely a notable experience already.

You're being asked... something, but it's difficult to parse the voice in your thoughts. Maybe you need to figure out the question as well this time? You look out the clear window of your enclosure, and find yourself intrigued by the featured tie... Continued in the #AltText

---

I especially liked this particular tying session. It was after a round table discussion on connective rope. While we didn't do a connective rope scene at the time, it did help create a good headspace for the intentional tie.

This is commonly known as a "Fisherman's Harness." Some also refer to it as a "Fishbone Harness" but this is not as widely known. A lot of the time when there's extra rope, folx will add a stem down the middle of the front and anchor it to a hip harness. I didn't have as much natural colored rope at the time and I liked the vibe I had going so opted for a different approach. Cuffing the hands was a perk to prevent the subject from being able to slide arms out as easily.

This particular harness is top of the list for prospective rope bottoms with small fiber neuropathy or some other types of nerve and/or circulation issues. It's safe for suspension as well as long as the appropriate anchor points are used.

#RopeArt #Shibari #RopeBondage #KatPics

Some of the pretty rocks collected from the recent trip to #LakeSuperior in various places that allowed collection. For the uninformed, it is illegal to collect rocks from within the designated Pictured Rocks shoreline.

Anyway, I haven't identified all of them yet, but they're cool regardless. And sprinkle in more of my narrative #AltText because #AccessibilityIsHotAF

This could technically count as an #OnOff if combined with https://lgbtqia.space/@h3mmy/114937514055948677 but for the fact I'm wearing different colored pants, and that they are a few days apart. Everything else is almost the same.

Here is the post that sets the premise for the narrative, just for anyone who's unfamiliar https://lgbtqia.space/@h3mmy/113986945039824172

#NSFW

Macro lenses and wide lenses tend to be more likely to have a flat field of focus if that's helpful?

Some camera apps implement the Camera2 API and let you manually tweak certain settings. I think OpenCamera exists for Android and Camera+2 for iOS. They might also have a mode for "focus stacking" where it will take pictures at slightly different focal lengths and then merge them with post processing. This is partially how the Google Camera app does it when using the "Scan Document" setting (it also does a simple perspective transform)

Basically right angles instead of trapezoids.

It depends on the focal length of the phone lens being used. Many camera lenses have field curvature which means one side of the lens will focus at a closer distance than a different side of the lens. Not great for document "scanning". A flat field of focus is what you want, ideally.

You are right that squaring it off and moving back and forth is theoretically the better way to do it. It's best if they can actually select the lense manually (often in "Pro" settings) or trying with different zoom levels to change the focal length.

Lighting wise, it's best to have two separate points of light on either side of the camera. I don't think precise angling of them is required unless you're trying to do studio type scanning of artifacts which is much more involved.

The conservatives have been forcefully labeling queer people as harmful to minors and sexualizing our basic existence.

This restrictiveness issue is now another avenue they have to suppress our existence, our speech, and our ability to connect to the public.

It's especially damning juxtaposed with the Maryland case of letting parents opt their kids out of any discussions that might involve a queer person even if the actual lesson has nothing to do with the fact they are queer. It's enforcing erasure from history books, science books, etc. Medical school barely teaches people about healthcare needs for LGBTQIA people, and we are the ones that suffer from the consequences.

*deep breaths*

I could go on, but I'm preaching to the choir. I've seen a lot of alt text simply treated like a caption which can provide context for an image without describing it at all. I can see that being really annoying and feeling exclusionary. I agree that "experience the image" might be misconstrued in a similar way and be less appealing.

Personally, I like to tell a story via the descriptions and eventually decided to keep the woven narrative description in the alt text and keep the rest of the story in the post. So the alt text is still describing it accurately but also doing a bit more context highlighting.

I'm not sure what sort of phrasing would capture "experiencing" the alt text in the way that's intended.

Also spreadsheets can definitely be artsy with the right words :neobot_giggle:

ALT After Dark (npub1c52…9s0m)

Premise: Reader is housed inside my camera and is occasionally let out for enrichment.

Reader allowing themselves to be captured: https://lgbtqia.space/@h3mmy/113986945039824172

Previous documented enrichment series started in https://lgbtqia.space/@h3mmy/114055756260096116

"Then beg!" said the melodic, yet firm voice in your head. You always hear them in your head and not your ears which really gives all of it a surreal overtone.

You had been asked if you wanted to go on a little field trip and it's usually not a question. After mumbling out a "I beg your pardon?", they cocked an eyebrow, seemingly amused.

"I'm sorry?!" you say, a reflex response to the tone, before you have even processed the words.

"You want to beg a pardon, right? To go on this little excursion? So, beg properly", their tone is simultaneously playful, tender, and intensely intimidating. You fall to your knees, expecting a painful thud, but you haven't yet gotten used to all the cushioning that seems to appear at times like this. You look up with pleasing eyes, and feeling just a little sassy, touch your forefinger tips together.

They have a little giggle with the psychic voice "You make a strong case" and your vision warps and blurs as you feel weightless. You've been getting kind of used to the sensation of falling sideways while still upright.

You feel your weight again, the floor is less padded but not too solid. The smell of vanilla, pine, and leather fills the air. Paradise Circus plays in the background along with a din of thwacks, whip cracks, moans, yelps, growls, and giggles. You've been here before. Your vision clears and centered right in front of you, is that same foxxo that you played with last time.

...
