The example that I will use is linear programming, which was invented in both the West and the USSR at roughly the same time. It basically allows you to maximize or minimize the value of a linear expression given some constraints on the variables in that expression.

Now, to decide what to maximize requires some kind of value judgement, and the technique itself has limitations.

Here's my two cents about the whole Ro drama:

Don't misgender people repeatedly, have an excessively brusque persona, and get all pissy when someone calls you out on it.

Also, If you see someone who bothers you, just block and move on. Don't harass the person. Don't feed the trolls, don't even think about bringing your personal bigotry into it, and remember the person by the screen (even if they are a jerk). It will save you a lot of wasted time and energy.

This isn't some complicated thing. Just be respectful. Use people's pronouns, don't be transphobic, don't be racist, don't harass people, and just try to be civil.

Also, just for a reminder:
Not everyone who disagrees with a member of a member of a group is bigoted towards that group.
