EVs can&#39;t start in under 33°F temperatures (RVs being kept mostly outside, especially by people living in them year round)&amp; most of the area these mandates cover definitely see colder temperatures than that (New York, Massachusetts &amp; New Jersey among them) .<br/><br/>2. The electric grid isn&#39;t strong &amp; powerful enough to handle the extra electric needs - if this change was made<br/><br/>Secondarily (3) I don&#39;t see how this (if the above tech &amp; science problems were fixed) could reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Over 70% of the grid power is generated by coal fired power plants &amp; between the added energy needed to make current batteries &amp; how short a time they last, it&#39;s questionable at best as to if - even with a change of grid power to 100% renewables ( decentralized solar/hydro/wind) as to if current EVs would use less carbon burning than regular vehicles do.<br/><br/>#Climate #renewables #GreenWashing<br/>#EV 2024-11-25T03:11:24Z
