I believe that the biggest mistake made by historical materialists and communist thought leaders was not taking Nietzsche seriously and not reading Dostoyevsky. I still consider their economic and socio-political analysis to be brilliant. And if one were to read Rosa Luxemburg today without blinders (which is admittedly difficult because one has to fight through all the Communist Party self-gratification), one would learn a lot about the world as it is today. Communism is now itself historical. It no longer exists and will never exist again. But it is knowledge of humanity. And we are forgiving it at the moment because we are following sick anti-communists. Reactionaries are never good advisors. Historical materialist thinking is the logical continuation of Hegel and one of the highest forms of European enlightenment. In any case, it is better than getting your political education from YouTube.

Von der neoliberalen Entmenschlichung und der zu „Verlieren“ degradierten Zivilgesellschaft.

Chemnitz ist die europäische Kulturhauptstadt 2025. Wie in den letzten Jahren üblich kumuliert in der ostdeutschen Provinz der Verfall und die Zerwürfnisse der deutschen Gesellschaft. Wie unter einem Brennglas werden in Chemnitz die fatalen Entwicklungen der westlichen Gesellschaften in nahezu comichafter Deutlichkeit und Brutalität abgebildet. Trauriger Höhepunkt war der in aller Welt übertragene Aufrufmarsch der deutschen Nazielite am Chemnitzer Karl-Marx-Monument 2018. Die deutsche Öffentlichkeit hat es sich einfach gemacht, die Probleme der Gesellschaft wurden auf die Schultern der eh schon gedemütigten Metropole in den ostdeutschen Bergen ausgelagert. Ein Sündenbock war gefunden, einer, der sich nicht wehrt.

Nun wurde von der EU diese Stadt aus genau diesem Grund zur Kulturhauptstadt erklärt. Von Anfang an waren die Stadtgesellschaft und vor allem die Behörden mit dieser nun vollkommen neuen und von den meisten als unpassend empfundenen Rolle völlig überfordert. Unfähig, sich mit den lokalen Akteuren und Künstlern auch nur minimal auseinanderzusetzen, wurden die von der EU dafür bereitgestellten Gelder an Scharlatane und Glücksritter außerhalb der Stadt verteilt. Da das, wie zu erwarten, nicht zu blühenden Kulturlandschaften führte, entschied man sich in den fensterlosen Büros des technischen Rathauses, Kultur ganz ohne Kulturschaffende zu machen. Wie schwer kann das schon sein, das nutzlose Gesindel welche nicht zum neoliberalen Umbau zu einer seelenlosen Gesellschaft beiträgt, zu ersetzen. Beobachter sprachen davon, dass das so wirkt, als wollen die Beamten ein Sportevent veranstalten, aber keine Sportler dabeihaben. Denn mal ehrlich, 100 m rennen kann ja wohl jeder.

Ergebnis dieser traurigen Überheblichkeit ist, dass das Herz und die Seele der Stadt getreten und gedemütigt werden. Das, was eine Stadt und eine pluralistische Gesellschaft ausmacht wird so lang getreten, bis es tot ist. Immer und immer wieder. Es nützt halt nichts zusagen, man wäre nicht einer dieser reaktionären Chauvinisten, um dann reaktionärer und chauvinistischer zu sein als die Angesprochenen jemals sein könnten. Gerade Kultur und vor allem Subkultur sind die Grundvoraussetzungen einer inklusiven, freien Gesellschaft. Die lokale Presse und die parteigebundenen Beamtinnen sind schnell dabei, sich vom politischen Gegner zu distanzieren und im Zweifel jedem, der nicht in ihre sehr beschränkte Vorstellungswelt passt, zu entmenschlichen und Etiketten anzukleben.

Dass es gerade die freie Kultur ist, die seit Jahren den Reaktionären kontra gibt, die eine lebenswerte Stadt schafft, ohne daran zu verdienen und ohne auch nur gelobt zu werden. Wird ignoriert und als unnütz abgelehnt. Man hat schließlich alles im Griff, man weiß es besser, man schaut herab. Man ist keinen Deut besser als die, die man angeblich so hasst.

Ihr solltet euch schämen! In Chemnitz und überall anders!

What always really gets on my nerves, even with myself, is the misuse of words. You see it everywhere. It's not just the propagandistic distortions and Orwellian re-purposing that cause concern. Very often it's simply the carelessness that people commit in order to make themselves look a little better, perhaps in a very human way.

But these are by no means just trivial offences. Language is very powerful and economical – it represents real things.

Something that is extremely noticeable is the misuse and mixing of opinion and truth. Everyone knows that you publish an opinion and it takes less than 10 minutes for someone to have a counter-opinion. This is actually a good and dialectical practice. You could use argument (thesis) and counter-argument (antithesis) to arrive at a new insight (synthesis) and learn something. Understand the other and yourself better.

As we all know, this only happens on the internet once every 2.8 million years. One reason for this is the misuse of words. Opinion above all and exclusively one's own opinion is equated with truth. You are right. Your own opinion is supposedly right. But one peculiarity of opinion is that it is NEVER true.

By definition, an opinion cannot be true. Because if it were true, it would be the truth and thus no longer an opinion. Of course, it may happen that one of the opinions turns out to be true, that it is proven. But at that very moment it is no longer an opinion, but simply the truth. Which includes that the other opinions on the subject, which previously existed on an equal footing with the now true statement, are superfluous and must be discarded.

This shows how extreme the effects can be if you don't use words correctly. If you set an obvious opinion (and there are many things for which no definitive true statements exist) as the truth, you are not only an unpleasant person, but you are also stating that the opinions of others (i.e. the potential antitheses) are superfluous. Without proving that these statements are false, but one denies the validity of the other's statement.

This is, of course, a deeply depressing state of affairs. Which makes it impossible to negotiate the problems. A reactionary work.
