Lot of research into why the poorest buy big brand, e.g. detergent, instead of cheap unbranded things. Summarising, the poor can&#39;t afford to take risks. But the same is true of anyone buying anything at the edge of their means. That one experience with Baratza was enough. I&#39;d argue they offer no questions asked free parts because their build quality sucks. I bought a Baratza Preciso about 15 years ago. Within the first 2 years, Baratza sent me 3 complete replacement drive shaft kits because they kept breaking &amp; tearing the entire superstructure apart. They continued doing this even after warranty expired. When it broke a 4th time, I bought a Macap M4D which has run beautifully for more than a decade. 2024-04-19T01:21:02Z
