I'm finishing up animation on a story about going to the Moon, and just as I'm close, it turns out we're actually sending people back there again. I didn't quite believe it, and so didn't quite prepare for it.

Also, it's about to be the 65th anniversary of human spaceflight.

My feelings about all this are actually a bit mixed, but mostly positive. I wrote about it today:

Okay, this end of the shot is back to working correctly. Very dicey getting the ink masked for the foreground billboard weeds, while also having correct reflections in the unrealistically shiny wheel hubs.

This view does expose the weirdness of the billboard gravel in the railway bed, but that I'm not fixing.

Now I have to go fix the middle of the shot.

Well, that's enough work for today. I got my composites back and made a draft edit. The sound is a mess. I'll work on timing adjustments and a new draft of the soundtrack tomorrow, I think.

Still reviewing materials for project history articles.

I'd been putting off processing the "Patreon Newsletters" which ran from Sept 2014 to June 2016. These were offline HTML, as a download for Patreon backers.

After that, I just started blogging on Patreon (bad practice, I think now). Those posts have all been migrated to the Production Log, but not the Newsletters.

I was considering that, since they were already static pages, maybe I should merge them after converting the Wordpress site to a static archive.

But I had a look last week, and realized they have YouTube and Vimeo embeds that are now broken and need to be replaced with PeerTube embeds.

And if I'm going to do that, I might as well just import them into Wordpress. So I started doing that, e.g.:

Some of the icons I collected or created over the last week or so. I preferred to use an official logo (or mascot) if one is available, but in some cases I made up an unofficial one, because I couldn't find any official branding.

Some of these are absurdly obscure or ancient and I'll never actually need them. But sometimes those were the most fun.

And yet, I have surely missed some.

This will be an ongoing project.

Set 1: Fediverse Instance and Related Software
Set 2: Programming Languages
Set 3: Packaging Formats, Repos, O/S, etc.
Set 4: Production Assets, Files, Roles, etc.

Set 5: I also made custom character emojis for Farscape, because I couldn't find any ready-made, and I'm watching the series now:
