I received an email a few minutes ago from Pillowfort.social and they are shutting down on December 4th. I had joined there around the time I had been banned from Twitter, and if I recall correctly, right before I joined MeWe, and Old Spinster.

I got banned from there too because while they were promising to be LGB-friendly, they were only LGB-friendly if the rest of the alphabet soup followed those three letters.

In true dissident style, I posted plenty of TERF stuff, and when I got users in my face, I tried to engage to show them their movement was as stupid as stupid can be and that thought was not a social/mass happening of groupthink. Note that when I had joined, it was a free social media platform: now from the email I got, it seems they ran on paid subscriptions (surprise, surprise -> this movement is a huge grifter gathering, I swear to the heavens).

So this morning's email basically goes into the *woe is me* troon stuff of what follows:

While we did have many people reach out about the non-profit initiative, it became apparent that we crucially wouldn’t be able to find someone to take over as the head of Pillowfort and lead the organization. 100% stainless steel. Works on my induction thingy, which is pretty spiffy. Instead of taking 20-odd minutes on a regular stove, this little induction monster makes the coffee in under 10 minutes. You can still find some in some coffee shops, brand new but a lot of those places charge an extortion price because they are so hard to find.

Ah yes. A Canadian company, which is a bilingual country, with not a French word on the website. Another one. I've seen countless Canadian websites, food labels and so on, lately which don't even bother with this pesky thing anymore. But hey, we have equal rights (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Official_bilingualism_in_Canada). Even in Québec, where this is supposed to be French-only by law (we make 70-something percent of the population...), I haven't seen many websites that are French-only, labels are bilingual. Lately I even saw a food supplement company from Montréal, owned by Montrealers, their website is English-only.

They figure the stupid francophones will understand and if they don't they don't matter anyway. If only for that, I wouldn't buy their stuff.

I bought an Italian one, a Bialetti, I still have my broken Vev Vigano Kontessa (the hinge on the top broke), still usable in case the Bialetti breaks. Recently I went back using the Vigano, the coffee just tastes better in it. Sadly, they are not in business anymore, folded a few years ago.

The full post: I see that Stella Creasy is accusing me of leading a pitchfork mob against her, because I opined that she is less likeable and more hypocritical than the wild parakeet she mistook for an escaped pet.

For those who don’t know, Creasy is an elected politician and self-proclaimed ‘old-fashioned feminist’ who is ‘still fighting the patriarchy’. She’s more than once publicly defined herself against me (and my reaction was not to accuse her of leading a mob, even though I was probably averaging a dozen death threats a day at the point when the article below appeared.)

I thought it might be instructive for those of us who don’t share Creasy’s brand of ‘feminism’ to examine her campaigning record, so we can learn to do better.

Creasy wants women admitted to the male-only, exclusive, London-based private members Garrick Club, a change that would benefit rather privileged women like Creasy. Creasy is a mother who wants better accommodations for working mothers, a change that would benefit Creasy. Creasy takes selfies at a men-only Muslim march because that reminds everyone how non-racist she is, which benefits Creasy. Creasy asserts that ‘trans women are women’, which keeps her in good odour with her party’s most aggressive activists, and benefits Creasy.

However, keeping cross-dressing heterosexual men out of nurses’ changing rooms doesn’t benefit Creasy, because Creasy has never had to mop up other people’s piss, blood and vomit at work. Challenging the notion that a male basketball player becomes a girl if he says he is doesn’t benefit Creasy, who has no sporting ambitions. Speaking up against the patriarchy as practised by non-white men doesn’t benefit Creasy, who wants those selfie-opportunities. Criticising an ideological movement that persecutes, harasses and openly threatens women who don’t believe some women have penises wouldn't benefit Creasy, because she's already fully-signed up to self-id, where any man who says he's a woman must be taken at his word.

As the late Gloria Steinem said: ‘“Feminism has never been about getting a job for one woman. It's about making life more fair for women everywhere.’

Creasy the patriarchy-challenger is provably more than happy to cosy up to men and misogynist movements when it suits her public profile and career advancement, no matter the harms those men might be causing less privileged women. Have been kinda busy yesterday. Had to go for my first meeting for my *fake* teeth... I don't know the English terms for this... mes deux prothèses / partiels, faire faire les empreintes pour couler les moules.

It was early in the morning, 8 AM, traveled via public transport, and it's on the south shore (CÉGEP Édouard-Montpetit) so didn't have time to have my coffee or breakfast. The student who has my file and will see me through the whole fitting process. It took maybe 90 minutes in all, nearly two hours. Adèle was with me. When I came out she was in a bad state. We had to take a taxi to get back and go to the ER at the hospital next door from where we live.

We got there at 10h30 AM and we came out of the ER at 18h30. God I hate the ER. You wait for ever. I had to stay close to her, she had a swollen leg (below the knee) and was feeling a lot of pain when she tried to walk. So I didn't have a chance to eat or grab coffee, got a huge headache from coffee withdrawal: the vending machines were useless at the ER, they couldn't handle debit cards/didn't connect.

They did a blood test on her, ran a scan on her leg. During all this waiting time, she searched the web for the symptoms and she was worried she had phlebitis because of all the meds and precautions you have to take, plus she will be going to China for three weeks for a tai chi thing later this fall.

Turns out she had a ruptured Baker cyst but she has to be extra careful because it can turn into phlebitis. So made sure once this stupid day was over she was comfortable at home and went to my home afterwards. Today, I will also be out a bit, I have to run a few errands for her, go get her meds she needs to take and grab some stuff for me at the grocery store...

Please note that I have not finished the book yet, but I'm pretty advanced in it at 60 % and, unless something goes seriously sideways, this book looks like it's a *Keeper* and also a *Favourite*. The author is Grace Parkes, and I've read quite a few of *her* books (with books, you never know if the author is truly a woman or a male) and the writing is so uneven, some books are written in a very awkward manner, typos, sentences turned in a way someone who does not master totally the English language would write and I do not finish them, I'm either bored with the storyline, bland characters or embarrassed by the quality. In fact it's so uneven, not sure if it's not an umbrella author name for AI *authors* to practice or if it's what I call an *author farm* where newbies are trying out their hand at writing to see how it goes or something. Anywho.

It's labelled as being an *ice queen* novel/romance, but this one has a twist. The writing style is creative, unusual and very nimble, I love the images the sentences generate in my mind and I've never seen this writing style before.

Anyway, the book is part of the *L.A. Ice Queens series*, the book is the third one in the series, *Her Surrender*. As an example, the first one in the series, I coud not finish and put it in the doghouse. The second one was very good and it narrowly made my *Keepers* list but not a *Favourite*.
