Megaman 8 was really good, aside from the voice acting. The hallmark of a good retro game is "When the tech and game design improved, would they remake this better? If not, it holds up."

It was made in the mid 90s and yet modern advances wouldnt really improve it, not even the graphics. I do hate that sled section at the halfway point though

Do it man. It is THE gold standard for percolating horror, think like games like Amnesia. Hilariously enough, the makers were inspired by Amnesia and this game went on to inspire Amnesia: Bunker.

The one thing it gets right that no one else does is that they give you a litany of ways to semi reasonably detect that the monster is present and roughly where, the alien's ability to detect you is just really good to offset that. Other games just "Don't die, he could be anywhere"

Are you just going to play about an hour or so and then not stream for a while? If so, you need a game that quickly gives some decent footage and payoff, even if you're interrupting it constantly with the chat. Hollow Knight: Silksong is good, but not retro. Clock Tower is good, but you might wanna quick start. Ape Escape of some flavour, preferably 2 or 3.

A longer experience is different, so let me know if you're going to be more regular

Gonna make my point across a few posts:

So basically, we can all confirm the SH2 Remake was pretty good in its own right and carries over much of what made the original so good, though its definitely a different, separate experience and you must play the original. I would say the biggest differences is that the camera angle changes the encounters, the combat is scary and fun this time and the game is much longer. Also the mannequins counteract the purpose of the radio and fog.

So I finished Parasite Eve or at least the first 4 stages of the final battle and didn't feel motivated to properly finish it after dying near the end. Beating 4 end Game bosses in a row was fun enough and makes me wonder why there are 5 bosses in a row to end the game with.

Overall, its a fun game that doesn't overstay its welcome, with an endboss too long. The plot is dumb and the villain is basically a Batman villain with a mitochondria theme. Give it a play, emulation is free

Forbidden Siren 2, the sequel to (Forbidden) Siren. Its kinda divisive as to whether its an improvement.

Most gameplay aspects have been improved, but now that you can pick up unconscious enemy weapons suddenly beating everyone to death is a viable tactic and it defuses the tension 95% of the time. Your crouch is actually fast now, so its just like Fallout where you're perma crouched until you're in open combat.

It is however, a good game with an area large enough to be a real small town.

I just finished Harmony, a DOOM total conversion mod. I had to tone down difficulty to the bare minimum, but its actually quite fun. Its got a modestly involved story that it fails to communicate very well, but for what its worth, its well made.

I binged on DOOM mods so thoroughly that I gave it up for a long time, now I'm more or less back on other games when I play at all. It was nice to finish this though.
