Very true for me personally! That speech by Dr Jack Kruse in BTC Prague 2026 really woke me the fck up. Prior to that, I was just going along thinking it was enough to self custody, even though I knew that Bitcoin cozying up to the Financial Industrial Complex was not the way. The decision to run a Knots node in late June really helped me better understand the nature of the Bitcoin ecosystem .

Outright lies are easy to spot. But half-truths are way more difficult. To me the BP-110 debate isn't just about the code and technical stuff. It's about who gets to decide what Bitcoin is and what it's for. A new form of money you can own and spend without government control. Bitcoin creation was a revolutionary act, and for a while, Bitcoin seemed like a revolutionary movement.

But history shows revolutionary movements rarely get crushed outright. They're softened from within...over time. Here are some strategies used in the past to destroy revolutions:

1. Surveillance & Mapping: Catalog the community. Who influences whom? Which voices carry weight?

2. Manufactured Confusion: Disinformation thru ambiguity, half-truths, and emotional framing to make people doubt their own judgment.

3. Fear Injection: Worst-case scenarios are dressed as warnings. Though real risks do exist when engaging in any revolutionary action, the fear-mongering is meant to paralyze people into inaction so that they don't defend themselves.

4. Co-option: Influential voices within the community suddenly shift positions without clear explanation.

5. Narrative Control: Corporate media frames who's "mainstream" and who's "fringe." Who is important and should be listened to versus who is inconsequential and should be ignored. Debates reduced to tribal slogans.

6. Division Amplification: Healthy disagreement are weaponized into personal conflict. Instead of rational debate, we get identity warfare. Name-calling becomes the norm.

This pattern isn't unique to Bitcoin. It's how Power protects itself when challenged by revolutionaries anywhere in the world. That's why we need decentralized noderunners, developers, and miners who can detect this, stay vigilant about what's real and what's false.

Our defence is simple: Verify all claims. Engage on substance. Resist false binaries. Stop supporting bad faith actors.

All across the world, we see government heavy-handedness. Politicians and unelected bureaucrats are making decisions that do not benefit the citizens of the country. And people are angry. But the fact that politicians are no longer hiding their disdain for citizens is also a sign that the old systems are deconstructing—call it crisis or evolution, it doesn't matter. What does matter is what you do while the ground shifts beneath you.

Far too long we've anchored ourselves to centralized platforms, false institutional promises, and the illusion that "normal" is something we can reclaim. Now those structures are crumbling. Whether by design or entropy, the wind of change is blowing.
