My employer went full on into the hype train and in 3 months the company's IT department is to be transformed into AI-first small teams that mainly just operate agentic LLMs and check the quality of whatever slop they'll generate.

So...
I'm looking for a new job, gigs, income sources, whatever you call it.
(They didn't fire me, or have any plans to do so, I'll quit probably before this stuff will completely change the workflow here and it'll be required for all devs to switch.)

Current status: I want to hope that there has to be other way ...

oh this goes much, much beyond "views we disagree with". It's sponsoring hatred and actions harmful to minorities, sponsoring racists and fascists. Views I can or cannot agree with are about whether it's ok to raise taxes or not. Not to persecute minorities or take their rights away. If you really want to refund people who are sick of your founders' actions, give us instructions on how to do that.

I don't think it's worth publishing a job-hunting post since I'm doing mostly Java EE development with some TS/JS/HTML/CSS, and since most employers from my experience aren't ok with "I know this and this, could learn what you've got in your stack if I don't know it already" AND since there's so much pushing for usage of generative AI in programming work...

Maybe it's time to look for no-tech job, or no-coding job. I don't know. I'm burnt out, depressed and disillusioned - each week more - about the state of IT industry. I feel trapped.

In an attempt to make my anxiety rectangle (term coined by Meljoann (npub1nuu…gjr3)) undesirable to pick up n-times-a-day even more I deleted EVEN MORE apps from it and "broke" the only browser I had installed (the default one from LineageOS) to not accept cookies and JS. Plus, the grayscale colour scheme. :teto_sweat:
