There is an implementation of ATP written in Rust called Blacksky, which I think basically comprises all the bits and pieces necessary to operate a full ATP service. But I think DID resolution is still dependent on Bluesky. And, as it stands, due in part to the complexities of ATP and all the moving parts the barrier for entry for getting an ATP service setup is far more demanding vs. an AP server or Nostr relay. I have a pretty solid concept for a dating app. Probably has already been done before, but maybe not(?).

Essentially, the common trend among user experiences between genders on all dating apps worldwide is:

• Men never get attention, so it's purely a numbers game for them; They will send likes out to virtually all profiles but rarely get any matches and almost never get any dates.
• Women, on the other hand, are very selective and will be inundated with literally hundreds if not thousands of likes. They can't sort through all of them and they become totally overwhelmed in trying to select someone to match with. They'll be covered in messages and don't have the mental bandwidth to handle all of it.

What some apps do to try and be novel or mitigate issues:

• Bumble = women (used to have to) send the first message.
• Hinge = can only have X amount of "matches" to communicate with at a time.

What if there's an app where men cannot send likes, only women can send likes. That way, it saves everybody's time: Men aren't carelessly and constantly issuing bullshit likes, and women aren't buried in likes from men they're not interested in. Women, being the selective ones, send likes to the men that they're actually interested in or attracted to, and hopefully therein only get attention from those men specifically. Additionally, like Hinge, limit the amount of "matches" one may concurrently maintain. In this way, the likes sent are far more selective and intentional and the matches made therein are of greater importance vs. something random and arbitrary.

I don't think that AT Protocol will ever achieve real or meaningful decentralization. It's too incoherent as a protocol with too many moving parts and not enough motivation or impetus for self-hosting or decentralization. It's almost *by design* disincentivized for decentralization. As I explained on Nostr:

I primarily use Outlook these days because both my work and school use Outlook and use Microsoft for 2FA. And, I actually like it. It's extremely reliable. It works great. The Outlook mobile app is really solid. Microsoft Exchange integrates perfectly with my Apple online accounts settings. I'm sure Microsoft is probably selling my data, I guess. I don't know. And, by objectively easier and more convenient, it's not necessarily because iOS is superior to Android (although, it basically is, regardless, even if better to a negligible degree). My life would be easier and more convenient because there are a lot of apps that I specifically desire which are exclusive to iOS, or which treat iOS as first-class with Android as an afterthought. There is better and more seamless integration of a lot of components in iOS vs Android, specifically related to travel and banking. I've never gotten a hotel digital room-key to work on Android while it always worked on my old iPhone. Boarding passes for flights magically populate themselves when needed from the respective airline app. And, now that I'm using a Mac again, everything between the two devices would seamlessly integrate and sync up. I'd get iMessage support again, etc. etc. etc.. Just a bunch of proprietary shit that only Apple could accomplish while living in their ecosystem. I don't like it in ideology, but I cannot disagree that it does "just work" and that it makes life easier and more convenient. I'm tired of making my life more difficult for no real pay-off.

The benefits of Android are rapidly being eroded away by Google, to the point that there's really no benefit for me to use Android over iOS at this point. The only real negative of this model is discoverability or wider content accessibility. AT Protocol does have some really interesting and novel features in that regard, like user packs for people to subscribe to, lists, and just sourcing content from the wider network for feed propagation. Here on the Fediverse it's bare-bones simple: you're either following a user or someone you're following is sharing their content; Otherwise, you're never seeing any of it. You could be following +100 users and still have a mostly dead feed.

China is a country with a lot of laws and control apparatuses in place but none of them applied or utilized. It is, in many respects re daily life, a more-free society and existence than the West. I think it's notable that, for example, China has a lower incarceration *rate* than most European countries and, of course, the United States of America. So, while the PRC government certainly has the *power* to, and "reserves the right" to crack down on people, etc., they almost never actually do.

In regards to things like this stuff, specifically, I don't think the government would really care too much. Prostitution is illegal, there are still prostitutes and people use digital payments therein. There are *so many* vendors and sellers of all sorts of things that it would be virtually impossible to actually tightly regulate payment processing. There are probably more vendors and sellers participating in financial exchanges on a daily basis in Shanghai alone than the populations of some European countries. It's not racism, it's not casual internet bigotry, it's specifically geopolitical, it's not accidental, the people spreading this *know* what they're saying isn't real (the entire account is just anti-Chinese propaganda), and the target audience is clearly non-Chinese-speaking Westerners. I don't know what utility it holds nor what it's trying to accomplish…… Maybe *domestic* propaganda to make citizens feel happier or be more tolerant of their deteriorating conditions at home? Foster sentiments of "well, regardless of the status quo, at least we don't have a 'social credit score' like they do in China!"?

This stuff *obviously* only works on people who are uneducated or ignorant considering if one was able to read Chinese one could just read the signs and text on images like that attached and immediately know what it was saying vs. trusting some blue-check-mark's narrative on X. This type of propaganda neither works on, nor is targeted towards, Chinese-speakers or people who otherwise know better……

Essentially, this advertisement is saying that on a lot of electric vehicle charging stations users need to pre-pay a set amount either directly or on an account plan: If a user has his/her vehicle plugged in and charging, but the user's balance paid hits zero, then the charging ceases and the user shows up to a car without a fully charged battery---something the user probably wasn't expecting nor wanting. But, if one has a credit score of 550 or higher, one can just pay with WeChat and WeChat will cover the expenses on one's behalf and one just needs to pay WeChat back for however much was charged. Just as if one was putting any ordinary charge on credit.

I have had a lot of really great success with Google's mobile-optimized Gemma 3 model running locally on my machine. I can use it to write documents, respond to emails, and things kinda like that.
