Discovery in public interest lawsuits is supposed to be a service to the press and public, in addition to the plaintiff.

It almost never is because defendant's always try to get protective orders that cover everything, and bully the other side incessantly.

The first Settlement Conference hearing for Gjovik v Apple is in a few hours. Apple's lawyers have been acting wild about it already & I still don't think they want to settle & are just delaying.

But 98% of lawsuits settle. I keep thinking about how that even if Apple was ready to settle, their external counsel have no incentive whatsoever to let them settle. I'm a cash cow for them & settling hurts their dismissal metrics.

Ok some good news too:

I found a great doctor after I moved to Boston and she's been helping me get my physical health back to normal. I've lost 50lbs since January & this week I was able to return to my normal wardrobe. I'm back to the weight I was when I started law school in 2018.

I also got off blood pressure meds, and probably detoxed a lot of Apple's chemical pollution that was stored in the lost fat. It was the biggest thing I could do to try to prevent cancer & I did it!

Me: The court's internet was bad; I could only hear half of what the Judge said, & he couldn't hear me whenever I tried to present arguments, & he seemed mad at me about it.
