The math looks tempting — free coins on top of your BTC. But look at what you&#39;re actually doing.&#xA;&#xA;To split, you send your coins into a hot wallet and replay them onto the fork chain. That fork is a public ledger. Every input you touch gets permanently linked to your stack — how much you hold, where it came from, where it goes. On-chain, forever.&#xA;&#xA;That&#39;s the thing people miss. You&#39;re not just collecting free coins. You&#39;re handing over your entire UTXO history to anyone who cares to look. The whole point of coin control and fresh addresses is to keep that private. A split undoes it in one transaction.&#xA;&#xA;And for what? A few percent on a coin trading on a single exchange with a paper-thin order book. You trade your cold-storage security and your on-chain privacy for a rounding error.&#xA;&#xA;CoinJoin first? It helps with provenance, but it costs fees and time — and it doesn&#39;t hide the size of your stack. The amount you split is still visible.&#xA;&#xA;If you&#39;re going to do it, do it with fresh, unlinked coins you don&#39;t care about exposing. Never your main stack. And honestly — if the payout is cents, the privacy leak isn&#39;t worth it.</html></oembed>
