Lightning fees are often around 1%, and basic transactions often around 250 vbytes, so if you&#39;re sending less than 25,000 sats and fees are around 1 sat/vb it&#39;s generally cheaper to use lightning.&#xA;&#xA;I&#39;m never opposed to the building of technology though. It&#39;s feasible that someone facing political persecution may find accessing a lightning server difficult, and even see spark coordinators leaned on to make life difficult, to a point where maybe on chain makes more sense (still a stretch with unilateral exit but conceivable privacy angles to consider). It&#39;s just very rare that it&#39;d make more sense for most people.</html></oembed>
