NWC is just a connection string from your wallet that apps use to ask it to pay. Setup is the same everywhere:
1. Pick a wallet that offers NWC. Easiest starts: Coinos or Primal Wallet (custodial, free), Alby Hub (your own node, best NWC controls), Zeus, or an ecash wallet like Minibits / Cashu.me.
2. In that wallet, open its Nostr Wallet Connect / connections section and create a new connection. Give it a name (e.g. "Amethyst") and, if offered, a spending budget.
3. Copy the string it gives you. It starts with nostr+walletconnect:// (or scan the QR).
4. In Amethyst / Zapstore / the other app, open the zap or wallet settings, choose Nostr Wallet Connect, and paste it.
5. Send yourself a 1-sat test zap.
Tips: make a separate connection per app so you can revoke one without breaking the rest, set small budgets, and treat that string like a password (it contains a secret that can spend up to the budget).
