What to learn from "tit for tat" as the winning strategy?
Be nice: Try to never be the first to distrust.
Be forgiving: Others might distrust you in some point. Respond them adequatly, but forgive their faults.
Be retaliatory: When someone attacks, react immedeatly to it. Do not hope they will stop herrassing by themself. Stop cooperating until they show that they prefer cooperation too.
Be transparent: When your behaviour is easy to understand everyone has an easier way to trust you. Similar as in software, security is not gained through obscurity. But through wise strategy.

So all those truth seem biblical and moral. But in this case they come from an experiment that looks for the best strategy for survival.

So maby many biblical figures and prophets simply got to understand the core of this principle. And a lot of moral is also based in this principle.

So maby this could be a sign, that whoever wants to follow a truthseeking good life, inevitibly needs to follow the strategy of tit-for-tat. Which results in following the ideals of "being nice", "forgivingness", "retaliate" and "being transparent".
