I've lived the life in my childhood. Lived it to the extreme. No electricity. Hand pumping water from a well dug with shovels. Doing laundry in a washtub with a washboard and ringer. Wood burning stove to cook and hear bath water.
We don't have to live it to that extreme if we have personal solar and/or wind power. Plus there is gas powered equipment, like lawn mowers and roto-tillers to make things easier.
I'd rather live that life then then sit in a cubicle staring at a computer all day like we all do nowadays.
