For what it's worth, in the states the ratio checks out roughly (1970s income was 250 oz of gold, today it's 20-25 oz), but that's mostly gold's bull run, not proof of impoverishment... real wages adjusted for CPI have actually grown modestly since the 70s. And calling the mahdoods comment 'gaslighting' doesn't really fit... he wasn't denying your perception of reality, he was making a historical comparison you can disagree with. That's not the same thing as manipulation... 💀
