Nos, a command line poster for Nostr
Nos is a no-nonsense command line tool for zipping quick posts to Nostr. Since I spend an unhealthy amount of time in the terminal, I wanted something that lets me blast out a message without launching a full Nostr client or fiddling with something like Yall. Quick and dirty — so I made Nos.
The first time you run nos with any message, it’ll politely ask for your Nsec key and stash it securely in your system keyring. After that, your inaugural post will shoot off like a digital carrier pigeon.
From then on, just type nos followed by whatever brilliant thoughts you want to share, and boom — message sent. No fuss, no muss.
If you’re feeling nostalgic and run nos all by itself, you’ll get a handy menu. There you can add or remove relays, check if your posts actually made it out into the wild, or reset the whole shebang to use a different set of keys.
For those of you who live in the CLI trenches, I hope this makes your life a little easier. I’m open to suggestions — but please, keep it simple. I’m not trying to build the next space shuttle here.
