Our study showed that an Intermittent Ketogenic Diet can prevent the accumulation of senescent cells induced by sustained Ketogenic Diet. This observation builds on that of others (10, 64), suggesting that an IKD may be more beneficial than a long-term continuous KD, perhaps by avoiding eventual pro-inflammatory activation.
