Is it #regenerative if it is moonscaped?

Many would say no. Usually they would be correct. Contrary to popular opinion, I think there is a time and place. Consider some of the common edible and #medicinalherbs that are found in many parts of the world.

Where do they grow?
Do many of them grow in disturbed soils?
Have you ever tried to grow #dandelion , #mullein , or #comfrey in your best #garden soil?

If so, you either had little successes growing them or you have very poor garden soil. Of course they do well in compacted and disturbed soils. I have found that heavy pig disturbance in a dense stand of young trees can bring a fall and early spring flush of grasses. This can be further improved by thinning the trees to let in more light.

Another use of #pigs is to flatten out a #terrace on somewhat steep terrain. I do not have a tractor yet, but I used the pigs to clear and flatten the place where I will build the tractor shed. They removed some of the trees by completely uprooting them. After they were moved, I let the ground settle and harden. It will only take me about 15-20 minutes with a mattock to improve the drainage and level out a few high spots.

I am not saying that I have always gotten it right. I certainly have not. But I have failed and succeeded on accident on many different occasions. The important thing is that you observe and take the feedback the land, plants, and animals are giving you.
