Even if we ignore that Copernicus was a devout Christian, whether earth rotates around the sun or vice versa is a relativism problem, as all cosmological problems are, and can be described mathematically either way. Today we know the sun itself isnt the center of the universe because it orbits around the center of the galaxy. And the galaxy itself is moving. But the Earth still is OUR center of the universe because nothing else matters as much.
Also you act as if this conclusion would be even possible in other religions, which history proves to be incorrect. Aristarchus came up with the same model as Copernicus under a system of Graeco-Roman paganism, and was suppressed far more effectively than Copernicus, by simply being ignored. The Greek Philosopher tradition is the closest secular thought to Christianity, and still it didnt produce results that were as good.
