"content": "On the one hand I feel kinda sorry for folks getting caught up in the water issues in the US west, but on the other it's hard to think that growing a hugely water-intensive crop like alfalfa (which wants *lots* of water, nearly almond-tree amounts) in the desert is a good idea.\n\nI'm not sure growing *anything* for export in the desert is a great idea, but definitely not alfalfa.\n\nhttps://gizmodo.com/albuquerque-was-drought-proof-until-its-dam-started-leaking-2000377686",
