well, of course I don't trust doctors very much, sure they do mistakes or simply don't care sometimes, that's why everyone should learn the basics and more deeply about their own conditions
still though I observed a lot of programmers who "learned to code" quickly with an online course and found a job afterwards — I'm not impressed with their skill level and they really lack math background, just parroting what's considered best practices by someone else
OTOH I also observed mathematicians who can't even style their code properly (it's basically unreadable until you pass it through an auto formatter and remove large blocks of commented out core)
either way, we can argue whether things should be regulated or not, but practically I have to play by the rules actual now (or get kicked out of the game)
actually I try to think of ideals as little as possible now, only adapt to whatever bullshit other people had imposed
