There are few people who have remained as steadfast in their principles as Ron Paul.
That’s the thing about principles: if you compromise them under “extraordinary circumstances” or you because you “need to choose the lesser of two evils” or because you think “this time is different,” then they’re not principles at all; they are preferences.
In this clip from the 80s you see Ron Paul defending individual freedoms, not because he personally wants to be able to do a shitload of drugs legally, but because he knows the government has no business telling people what they should or should not put into their bodies.
