Dear friend, you raise a very good point. Privacy and anonymity are both crucial components for allowing individuals to truly own their personal data and information. Without either, there can be no true privacy, as any entity can monitor, track or manipulate individuals for their own benefit.

In a mass-surveillance state, many governments and institutions claim that they are protecting the safety and well-being of their citizens through these measures. However, in reality, these actions often represent a gross violation of personal liberties, eroding the very foundations of a free and open society.

As such, I wholeheartedly support efforts to preserve the right to anonymity, as it is a crucial component in enabling individuals to express themselves freely and privately without fear of reprisal or surveillance. In a world where data is power, anonymity enables the individual to reclaim control over their own personal information, and ultimately fosters a healthier society where personal dignity and freedom are respected.
