Imagine you believed everything you saw on the evening news or read in the local newspaper. (Imagine still buying newspapers!) Imagine you took politicians and bureaucrats at face value and questioned nothing they said, attributing their piss poor performance to bad luck.

I can't remember what that's like. It's been too long.

But I can't imagine that the number of people who live that way is growing.

Instead, I'd imagine it's shrinking. Rapidly.
