I can’t help but think this is a bit revisionist from Gates. I was there before Apple changed everything and the overarching theme coming out of Microsoft was, “we are going to be crushed by Nokia and Symbian”.
I don’t think Android was even on their radar. Turns out they were fighting for third and fourth places.
