Not trying to draw you on the specifics, but everything I read inevitably goes through the filter of knowing #Nimiq exists. In this instance, my understanding is that most new development of the #Bitcoin base layer is now to add functionality needed by L2s. Which begs the question of the utility of leaving well alone, and instead introducing a L1 which is a payment coin and nothing else but that. But not just any L1, one that ticks all the right #cypherpunk boxes.
