1) At a time when LSPs are already under pressure to be classified as money transmitters and users are already concerned about the permissionless future of Lightning, we see no benefit in adding an additional layer of centralization...
For the record, we proved to the world last December that it was possible to have a stable, divisible, and transferable balance in terms of dollars (or any other currency) on Lightning: without issuers, without tokens, without counterparty risk, and without asking for permission.
