Just finished this long form post where I review much of the formalism of the grapevine. In the process I’ve come up with something I call the Grapevine Worldview: a formal method of offloading to your WoT the task of interpreting and processing data and content that already exists in the wild to produce contextual scores for users, products, businesses, whatever you want. In a way that will allow you to sort content. Exactly what we all want from WoT, with no expectation for users to produce “ratings” in unnatural ways. And the construction of Worldviews will be highly intuitive and will depend very much on the value system of the user.

Feedback is welcome 🙏🏼 😊

Going to write up my thoughts about a super stimulating convo I had at #nostriga yesterday with getting into the weeds on calculation of web of trust scores. Crystallized my understanding of a particularly thorny issue that I’ll explain in the writeup. tl/dr: all-in cypherpunk FTW🔥

Btw if you haven’t seen it, here’s the panel discussion on WoT from day 1 of the conference with pip, , , ,
