Why do people treat the young like potential threats? Anytime I have addressed young people my standard:
“Everyone is welcome, every pronoun will be respected, every accommodation needed will be approved, I will take a mild roasting but ask for mutual respect, I am a white cis-het(ish) woman and will likely fuck up so be kind when you educate me on my blindspots, and we’ll get along nicely” has always worked for me.
