The meeting last night with Cherry Smiley and Kathleen Stock at a hotel in Burnaby. It was a big hike for me to get there but after I got a ride from two gay men allies (LGB Alliance) back to Vancouver!
Everyone was so great and friendly. The speakers were amazing (though there was nothing actually NEW, LOL) and it was so wonderful to see all our sisters and a few reasonable guys too!
Security was excellent. There were no disruptions thanks to keeping the location even from ticket holders until the day before the meeting!
(I have to admit I was confused when Cherry Smiley stated that Meghan Murphy isn't a feminist. I really hate that word sometimes. I don't understand why ppl insist on changing the meaning and thinking we can include women who ONLY prioritize men. I don't see Meghan doing that but then I don't pay that much attention to the famous feminists anymore. Maybe I should? I just don't like the format many women use (audio&video rather than written), I don't like the divisiveness, even though this is the way we work out our problems. One of the two gay men I met thought the word should be abolished completely - but then we'd just have to choose another word with a similar meaning like 'woman's rights campaigners' or 'women's liberationists'!)
I was able to say hi to women I hadn't seen since 2020! The Lesbian Collective is the group I marched with in 2018 when we got kicked out of the Dyke March - they had a nice slide show including the pic I took back then.

Later I actually WAITED for Kathleen Stock to come out of the WOMEN's washroom (where there were no men) so I could intro myself! LOL Poor thing. But I didn't exactly see women lining up to fangirl here. Canucks are so polite it's ridiculous sometimes.
I understand there was a recording made of this event and they'll let us know when it's out.
