No network can be made entirely bot-proof. It’s like running a public park: you can put up gates, hire security, and enforce rules, but if the park is free to enter, people (or bots) will always find ways in. You can make it harder or more costly to abuse the system, but not impossible.

Nostr is a grassroots network where regular people run relays and cover the costs. When relays are attacked, it doesn’t make the network stronger—it shrinks. Each attack makes Nostr less competitive, while our rivals are attacked far less, and nobody would think to undermine them in the same way.

Every attack weakens Nostr and slows its growth, while other networks continue to expand with fewer disruptions. In the end, there’s an element of luck, and the least attacked networks are the ones that tend to survive/win.
