High level mathematics is spiritual enough to feel like meditation itself.
Pure natural sciences never touch moral questions and hardly ever any spiritual questions. So I don't see the deep need some do, to have one disaproove the other when it comes to the Religion vs Science.
The moral/spiritual teachings of Jesus or the Buddha are just as useful to the right person no matter how well we understand the intricacies of Classicsl Termodynamics or Quantum Physics, etc.
One is a story based framework: Religion. The other a falsifiable facts framework: Science.
Both serving orthogonally different purposes. Stories are used to convey meaning; like attempts to express meaning in between what words are capable of. Just like the Real number system fills in the gaps of the Rational numbers system.
The falsifiable facts framework of science, are mostly about modelling in words and formulas what we observe through experiments. To then later be able to use that in engineering applications. Very handy! Very powerful! But hardly what comforts you when a loved one passes away or that solves for your lost identity in times of crisis.
Something that stories can help us with. To bring us new meaning to what we see and experience and save us in moments of dread.
