I have to admit I haven't read The Shining (where the quote is), but I read A LOT of his books. I still have The Dark Tower series and a few more but all in Spanish
What I like about Bag of Bones (and King in general) are the images, I always remember when Mike, Jo, Katie and the lawyer are having lunch on the town square. Of course later, everything goes to hell...
He always does the same, makes you care about a character just to kill it on the next chapter
