Watched Don't Worry Darling last night, but only after reading about the ending, and I think I would have found it really boring had I not known what was coming. As it was, I did find it boring, but at least I had something to look forward to.
I think this is a problem for "everything is perfect, but maybe not what it seems" movies. If you spend too much time on establishing it's perfect, there's nothing happening, no tension. If you spring the twist too soon, what are you going to do with the rest of your two hours?
