There are two key takeaways from the Dot Com bubble that I believe are relevant today
1. The enthusiasm was right but the timing was wrong. A bunch of the ideas that were deemed failures then are huge companies today (e-commerce, online pet stores, food delivery, etc)
2. Investors bet on the wrong companies being the ones to capture the value (e.g. Cisco)
AI isn’t a bubble like say crypto was but we are at the peak of inflated expectations.
