My wife and I were talking about this last night.
There's an attitude in some devout Catholic circles that more or less rejects the use of NFP except in the most extreme circumstances.
Related is the thought that having another child is always a higher good than delaying having more children so as to see to the material welfare of the family or to try to improve standard of living.
Many of our peers may have more children and be renters longer rather than spacing children out more and owning a home.
I think this is not wrong, but also not entirely right, either. We live in a time in which children are practically guaranteed to survive to adulthood, and in which we have the knowledge to understand our own fertility so that achieving pregnancy isn't just a roll of the dice.
With both of these technological advancements, in my view, comes the responsibility to use them prudently.
